Some of My Best Finds from 1 year in the Field of Dreams!

The finds below are all from the same site that is frequently referred to as the Field of Dreams. Everything here was dug roughly between Thanksgiving 2012 and Thanksgiving 2013, give or take a few weeks. The site dates from the 1650's and has given a pretty nice sample of artifacts and coins spanning that entire period. My favorite finds have been the 3 Hammered silvers (Oak Tree Shilling, Cut Pine Tree Shilling, and Charles I Penny) my first Gold coin, 2 Native American Axe heads, Rattlesnake Button, Bullet Mold, and Spanish Silvers. There are a lot of goodies that I either have put away or haven't sorted yet, so there may be more pictures coming! Thanks for looking!

Cut 1652 Shilling from Virginia

That is some great finds from an awesome site. I found this cut Shilling a few years ago and had no idea what it was til recently. This is my very first post and not even sure the image will show up. I still don't know if it's a Oak Tree, Pine Tree, or Willow? Any help folks? Thanks!

Very nice piece of Mass silver you have there. Can you post a picture of the other side if the coin too? it might help to be able to ID your coin as a pine, willow or oak and probably which specific variety it is too.

It's believe its an Oak Tree Shilling. Your cut coin has some very interesting features. Notice the top of the S has a forked-tongue appearance, that made it easy to eliminate a lot of varieties. The best matches I can find so far (still looking for some other examples which may be close) are the Noe. 13.6, Noe. 13.9 and Noe. 14 Oak Tree Shillings. In the case of the Noe 13.6, there are only 5-6 known of that variety and the 13.9 is listed as very rare so I'd lean towards the Noe 14 with a Rarity of 4. I hope for you it's the 13.6 or 13.9 but no matter what its a spectacular find!
I'm not an expert on these, but if you post this in the What Is It section you might get a confirmed ID. I'm pretty confident you have Noe 14 though.

Man. Thanks for sharing that information! I have to admit.. It does seem to favor the 13.6. With the V design and the snake tongue S. My next question is should I send to get authenticated and slabbed? I don't sell any of my finds, but are these of much value? Also, like I said, I am new here and can't seem to find how to post "new" thread.
