Some pics for the frozen-in croud

I read a lot of posts that say that a lot of you cant go out mding, because the snow and cold. So, I figured I would list some items I have found over the years to get the blood moving. Hope everyone likes them. first one is boyscout luck medal with swastika on the back. Found this one about 6" at older park in el paso. Second one is a piece of play money I found in Germany in 1989. Back says "Speil Mark" and is dated 1696. Dont know if the date is legit. 3rd one is a tiny gold coin (replica of some old gold coin) back says california gold. Next one is a mexican Pepsi-Cola token. Living in El Paso, I found lots of mex coins and a few spanish tokens. Let me know of any questions or comments. I'll post more later.

NIce stuff...yep, I can't wait til the foot of snow here in NH goes away. That gold coin would be the find of the lot. I wouldn't pass it off as a replica, though, as a lot of the california gold coins were quite small. Good stuff though. -Ben

Mike, I was at Lee Barracks in Mainz for 2 years from 1986-88. Loved it. I want to go back.

NH, you may be right about the gold coin, I should research further.

Hey VWayne, looks like an 1857 gold dollar to me. If it's a California gold dolalr then maybe that starting price around 500 bucks is a good motivator to get it checked out and get a second opinion too! Nice digs!
