Hello everyone!
Haven't been here for a while, andnow i have found something really valuable for me - curonian (viking) sword fittings! Found it in Latvia, it was all alone without any other that-time artifacts around it.
I would like to restore it, but there was nothing left of the blade, so I wonder if anyone has made a new blade on authentic hilt?

I'm sure there are those who could make you a blade to match, but then a new blade on old fittings would look kind of funny. I think the items are very cool, even spectacular as they are and if I had the pleasure of finding them I would leave them as they are.

Great find! I have only a broken example of that type of pommel.

Absolutely amazing and rare find! I am not sure that I would want to have a blade and handle made to fit the pommel and crossguard to but that is your choice. I would imagine a Museum would pay a pretty penny or Euro to have the items for display! You might check on the site or with the folks at Ethnographic Arms & Armour for help with your quest.
