This remains one of my favorite finds. Its a patriotic button with a Rattlesnake motif. I know quite a few of you guys have found these. I'd love to see a nice variety posted here.

I wanted to find a Rattlesnake button since I first found out they existed. That would have been about 1992 when I was living in Texas. About 6 years later I'm back in Pennsylvania and lo and behold I find one! About 10 years later I find another on the same site. Both are the Rattlesnake and Stars variety. Now I want to find some other variants, like the Rattlesnake and Eggs and the Rattlesnake and Liberty Pole, but I know it won't be easy. My friend Thad just found a cuff size Rattlesnake and Stars - yeah I'll take one of those too!

Here are both of mine.

I was little too aggressive cleaning the first one. I was more careful with the second.

Very cool find of the Rattle Snake buttons. This was my first time of seeing a pic. of one of these. Not being familiar with these, what do they date back to? These are really nice looking buttons. Congrat's.

There are a number of varieties of the Rattlesnake button. They date from around the end of the Revolutionary War to about 1800.

If you are in Georgia you have a good chance of finding one. Lots of snake buttons are found in South Carolina, plus these Chatham Artillery buttons turn up around Savannah. I paid $325 for this one.

I haven't found one. Maybe there is. But I've searched and searched for one.

That's a nice addition to the thread. Congrats on the Banner and good luck with the tattoo!

Thanks! I just have to figure out where to get it. I was in the Army so both shoulders are already taken:laughing7:
