I couldn't resist and went back to the area that keeps producing finds but the soil there is so bad it just rots all the large coppers and buttons to pieces. This time i managed some silver as well. A 1908 fish scale and a tiny very worn unknown silver coin. Also a 1832 thistle token,1911 large cent i forgot to post, a 1920 canadian one cent, a big 62 regiment dome button and a triangle tag that has two names on it. Also found a counterfeit George iii bull head shilling. When i first popped it out it looked like a silver shilling but very black tarnished until it snapped apart. Once it dried out i realized how bad a fake it was but back in the day when it had its silver coating it would have looked close to the real thing. I wish i was more gentle with it but who expects a silver coin to snap. The best find of the day was a single shot boot pistol. When i dug it i wasn't sure what i had so i didn't try to hard to see if there was any more pieces but ill look next time. This is the first gun I've dug besides trigger guards and butt plates of muskets. It was still a bit wet in spots when i took the picture because i just cleaned it up. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]
