I found this in a cut soybean field not to far from an old torn down woods house site. We just decided to keep swinging thru field on the way out. This was back in late February. I was shaking when I realized it was 18k gold.

In a Soybean field? Surprised the finger wasn't still attached. I have a lot of farmers in the family and none of them have all of their fingers.

Yep, it's on State land. There were houses there back in late 1800's early 1900's, long gone now. You can still find old wells, some foundation, giant out of place trees, flowers and so on. We didn't find much at house, couple Wheaties and usual junk. Found the house sites on historical aerials.com. It was getting towards dark so we just decided to swing thru field on way back to truck. I just got lucky.

The ring has initials in it with cross in the middle. I'm assuming it's a woman's ring by the size ? I've thought about trying to find owner but is it 3 years old or 100 ? Don't even know where to start ?

Hopefully the first of many :icon_thumright:
I'd say it dates from late 1800s early 1900s

Nice first gold. Did you have a pre-rehearsed gold dance or was it spontaneous LOL?
