I don't think that is a ring. How would you wear a ring like that?

Lol, it is a ring and a nice one at that!
Look at his last picture; think of a stone in the hole.....
The first two pics are sideways you silly goose :icon_jokercolor:

It looks more like part of an ornate brass spigot. Still an interesting find though.

No, definitely a ring. Look at the bottom picture, place your hand flat on the screen, fingers up, and imagine sliding your finger up through the ring, so you can see a circle of the top of your finger through the hole.

Can you see it now?

The hole is not perfectly round and looks too small for a finger to fit through compared to the mass of metal on each side of the hole, unless it's some kind of a brass knuckle used for fighting... one mass above the finger and the other mass held in the palm of your hand to keep it from turning when a punch is delivered.

No, the hole you're referring to isn't the spot for a finger, it's the spot a stone used to be set in. Imagine the whole thing a lot smaller.

Why not just take a picture of the ring on your finger then? This would show the scale of it and how it is put on a finger?

Well, an awful good question. I was hoping he'd been reading along and would have done just that by now...
