My new metal detector was delivered 3 days ago (Minelab Explorer SE Pro) and having the chance to take it out yesterday and the day before I am more than happy with what I have found so far :)

I haven't owned a metal detector for around 7 years and it felt so good to get back in those fields/woods hunting for treasure :)

So far I have found the following:

2x George III One Penny - too corroded to see the date but between 1797 - 1806
1x George V Half Penny - 1914
1x George V One Penny - 1936
1x Elizabeth II One Penny - 1966
5x Elizabeth II One Pence - 1971 - 1988
6x Elizabeth II Two Pence - 1974 - 1989
1x Elizabeth II 5 Pence - 1969
2x Elizabeth II 10 Pence - 1977/2001
1x Elizabeth II 50 Pence - 1977
3x Elizabeth II One Pound - 1983 - 2005
2x Copper Thimbles
2x Buttons
1x Bridge Museum Token - 1987
1x (Appears to be a blacksmith made spoon) Unsure of age?!
1x Belt Buckle
1x Strange Foot (made of concrete with a copper outer?!)
5x Bullet Ends + 4x Catridge Ends + 1x Complete Bullet
2x Old Fishing Lead Weights

I have been detecting inside a field next to a river which I fly fish on...On an old footpath through the woods next to this river (where I found both the George III One Pennies and numerous more modern coins)...and inside/outside a late medieval farm house (only very few semi walls remain).

It feels great to have found these items so far in only 2 days (around 10 hours) and i'm really looking forward to the next year passing by as quickly as possible to see what else I can find ;D

A few pictures of my finds can be seen below...

Happy hunting :)

Wow!

I've long been amazed at what all you find in England! And wished more than once I could take a trip and give it a go myself.

Impressive finds!

(I've never quite trusted Brasso with my good stuff; it can sometimes do the job a little "too well." Not criticising, just my experiences with it)
