Samurai chainmail armor

Here a picture from my collection of samurai chainmail armor, or kusari gusoku which means chain armor. The picture is of a kusari katabira or chain jacket, it is a form of armored clothing which could be worn underneath a kimono for protection from attacks. I have provided a link with more pictures for anyone interested in seeing more. These items are all from the Edo period, 1800s and older. Some of the chainmail is hidden between layers of cloth and cant be seen.
