    Arrowheads Virginia

Just a few of the many arrowheads I've "eyeballed" while swinging the detector in fields and creek beds, northern Virginia, most of them are made of quartz.

Keep your eye peeled in a plowed field especially after these spring rains, never know what ya might see

    Hey floodcitykid,

Very interesting collection you have there. Yours are totally different than the kind we find in Northern California. Like you all of mine have been eyeballed while metal detecting. These are all made out of black obsidian. Some of the tribes we had in this area were the Hopi, Miwok, Paiute, Pomo, and many others. All these were found in Sonoma and Lake Counties.

    Re: Arrowheads Virginia

A lot of quartz down there. Here in cental Pa. they are a prise for sure, we do'nt get many. Along the Susquehanna and southern and SE pa. they are more common. I worked construction in Md. and looked for artifacts while there, most of the debitage was rhyolite and quartz. The area must have been well looked after 'cause i only managed to find one broken point. H H .
