Happy New Year, everyone! I just wanted to kick off my 2017 posts with some family history. These items all belonged to my Great Grandfather, Fred Hopkins. Fred was a carpenter by trade and a Cape Cod native in the late 1800's. I've has these items in my collection (along with many of his carpentry tools) since I was 12 years old...that's 42 years ago!
The first is Fred's once intricately designed tin cup coffee warmer, followed by his bait box and some sort of LARGE treble hook. Lastly is what Ive seen described as an 1800's Policeman's lantern.
Any comments and clarificatiin are enthusiastically welcomed!

Can't help you with the IDs, but can thank you for refreshing my memories of when I worked on the Cape--between Hyannis Port and Bass River during the summer of 1960.
Happy New Year !!

I love the Cape! We used to have a family place on Long Pond. My dad grew up in Needham.

I clicked on this forum for the first time today, I see it's an old thread. I can't id the first items but the large treable hook is for dragging a body of water for finding a corpse and the last two are carbide lanterns. By now you may already know these things. Neat stuff.
