A terrific collection of mementos. Congrats on that.
"And so the population was gradually led into the demoralising temptations of arcades, baths, and sumptuous banquets. The unsuspecting Britons spoke of such novelties as 'civilisation', when in fact they were only a feature of their enslavement." Tacitus, Roman Senator and Historian, written AD 98.
The Bald Eagle photo...he/she posed for me, gave me it's best American look. I felt privileged to get the shot.

My father worked at te kennedy Space Center and was one of the original members of the astronaut rescue team.
He wrote a book about that period and still has a lot of memorabilia from his time there.

Oh yea, nice cross section of goodies, ephemera and hardware!
My fave in my minor collection silly as it may seem, are the pieces of roadway the crawler runs over. I Loved watching the crawler as a kid, and was a highlight of my visit to KSC.

It's part of the heat shield that protects the command module from heat of reentry. This part was removed with a hole saw to access the actual bolts so that the shield could be removed for inspection.
