Thought I'd found a weasel...

I thought I'd found a weasel I could afford!

Well, I guess not a weasel... Maybe they call 'em Terra Gator?
No. I looked that one up. Terra Gator is a very cool looking piece of Ag equipment ANY kid would love to mob around!

Anyhow, I had to look closer, since the price was right!
I guess it's seen some weather. For at least a few years.

Since they ARE amphibious, I guess what rain fell in never got out.
Everything was pretty much rusted up solid. Bummer.
Nothing left to work with. They might be asking more than it's worth!

Here's a pic of a current build. This one is called MaxII. Another is called Argo.

Without doubt, there would have been a high price to pay if I had brought it home.

But I did pull up 1 used one for sale... up in Michigan. Asking $4,500. Said $10k new...

rmptr......funny thing, I WAS thinking about what could be done with it when I saw my name mentioned. I was thinking, it could be converted to a quad trailer. Put a tow bar on it, keep just the 2 wheels and make sure there aren't any leaks. Then, when you go duck hunting, you could paddle out to the ducks that go down in deeper water. Maybe even have a 12-volt trolling motor and add lights. You can also pack a lot of extra stuff to take with you, i.e. a blind, the guns and ammo, decoys, firewood, extra clothes and on and on. Would look great with a cammo paint job. You passed up a DEAL!

Actually, PB, it's still there... sitting alongside El Camino Real, the Old King's Highway...
anybody wants it, I'll post the coordinates...

Absolutely EVERYTHING in the whole drivetrain is froze up.
I probably would have grabbed it if I could have salvaged at least 1 axle with functional pillow block bearings, but it's all shot. You'd have to torch the bearings from the axle halves at this point.

If they just would have flipped it over when they lost interest in it...
