The name escapes me, but this 64 room palace was used for a hunting and recreation lodge (now used as a NATO headquarters I believe) and is located just outside of Baghdad. I'm sure there are a few folks on this site who have probably been there, and can maybe elaborate on the finer details. These are from the summer of 2007....enjoy

Very true, and to think this is just a small fraction compared to the family palaces that exist.....or in some cases, existed.


Same old story throughout history. Many of the world's historic castles/pyramids/monuments,etc are the result of egos of rulers at the time.

I guess I figure most of my work is good for maybe 60 or 80 years.
I'd be surprised if any of it was useful at 100 years.

Now if I could get just one contract to build a pyramid...

What ever happened to all of that money they found early on?. I remember seeing forklifts loading the us currency into trucks. That would have been a good stimulus package for the American people

Beautiful too bad it had to be built on the blood of others, but my think of cleaning it! Thanks for sharing the pics I love to see things that cant be seen here!
