Molly, I'm with you on loving mushrooms for bothing eating and photographing. I got some nice photo's over the years while metal detecting of some unusual varieties, but lately have not been seeing the more beautiful ones, maybe the dry spells we have been having here locally the last few years are the reason or I just am not at the right place at the right time. :icon_scratch: :D

Beautiful colors on the second photo!

Don

I hope you don't mind me adding these photos to your post. ::)
Here are 4 of my favorites, I believe I may have posted some or all of them in the past but might as well add them to your post of them, they are all so beautiful!

Hi Molly,

I'm sure you know whats edible and whats not, but just in case I hope you don't put that first one in your omlette. I think that is an Amanita, deadly poison.

Great Pictures!

Hi Ron & April.

I never eat mushrooms out the woods. I only ever buy them from stores. I think you maybe be correct about that first Mushroom. I read some where that coloured (red/orange) mushrooms are deadly.
Thanks for posting sweetheart. :)

Molly, the pics are beautiful. So are yours, Don. BTW, I don't dare eat those growing in the wild...only the ones I buy at the store, love em! Had a seafood stuffed portabella, topped with crabmeat au gratin last night...yummy.

I do not see the "strange" mushroom pictured here, nor on the www, but there's one that pops out of the ground here, I will get a pic of it when I see it again.

I remember years ago my dad running someone who was trespassing in our pasture away, Dad told me the guy was picking mushrooms that grew in cow patties. :tard:

37, I didn't know what a Morel was until I looked them up. I couldn't eat those, although its said they are delicious.

The white formed fungi is called a Tooth fungi. Also Judie in lots of countries they grow veg in human patties, fields & fields of them. When driving past the one in Scotland, the smell is unbearable.. :tard:
I know not a very nice subject but, its true.
