Thanks Ben and Creek. The Lupine grows everywhere over here. A FLUME is an artificial CREEK. It brings water to the town of Murphys. It was built to bring water to the miners around 1850 or so. This IS the middle of GOLD country! The water comes from Way up in the Sierras, where the snow is almost year-round. In the summer, the flume is a source of water fun, as you can see by the pics added from Judy's VAST collection. It is called FLUMING!! TTC

Many people just may not realize the Mother Lode is FULL of poison oak!
