Harris Station was an important part of commerce during the 1800's. Paper would hauled by mule train to Harris Station, from Harrisville 11 miles away, to make the trip by train to market.
Harris Station was abandoned during the 1890's, after the decline of Harrisville. Nothing remains but a concrete slab at the site. Harrisville is now just another NJ ghost town.
