the cows couldn't reach it....

There it was, on a very steep bank of the creek, just out of the cows reach. They had tried, as evidenced by the hoof prints left in the mud, but just couldn't stretch far enough.
Late spring/ early summer bloom after recent rains....I just looked in my field book and can't seem to find it. Can you name?
What beauty!

well, I looked again and much closer this time. It is a Bluebell...varies from blue to purple, prominently marked with dark purple in center. Also called Purple Prairie Gentian.
WTG Naturegirl. And thanks for both ya'lls input.
Call me crazy, I just like to know what I'm lookin' at.

Happy Hunting,
