Went fishing at my fav lake today in my boat. Caught this guy looking for lunch. Yes,I returned him to his hidey hole. 3 1/2 pounds, hybrid largemouth. Then, because it got so windy, I headed around to the backside of the only island on this 75 acre lake. When I got there, I saw; PHOTO OP! So I got out my camera and started snapping away, Enjoy............

Ahh, so nice and green and cool looking. I like the darkness, right now it's white-hot sunshine outside, with a bistering blue sky.
I'd rather be in your picture.

Get a plastic frog lure. Cast it out and land on on those lily pads. Make it hop off into the water. Largemouths will tear it up, cause they watch those pads to see if anything jumps off of them.

Will a 10 inch gel frog work? It has paddles for rear feet, we use them to catch muskies. I caught a 3 inch bass on a 6 inch plastic worm the other day, 'twas funny as all git out, didn't have cam with me then, would have made for a great trophy picture.......NGE

I'm gettin back to ya. I don't know what a 10 inch gel frog is. However, to make it simpler, I fished for bass in Oklahoma. When I found a spot with lily pads, particularly in the later spring or early summer, I learned to cast out whatever lure and hit on one of those pads. Then, jerk a little bit on the lure to make the lily pad move. This attracts their attention. Hop that lure off the pad and into the water, and those bass will hit. I suppose it works up north. Probably there's some other southern boys on here that know about this. Good luck, nge!
