surprise baby!

Last week my wife and I came upon a very unusual scene in a field beside the road. A minutes old lamb just struggling to it's feet. It took a tumble or two to achieve a standing position and we caught it's first steps on film. I just wished I had my video camera along. We are used to seeing lambs in the Spring...this was one very late baby.

Whether its a baby bird that looks like it will never grow into its beak, or a wobbly-legged fawn, there is always some inspiring feeling to witnessing newly "hatched" life isn't there ?

Great pic. It's always great to see the miracle of birth. I don't think it's great enough to see here in my house again, but it's cool for others.
