Winter's Day Walk

I took another walk today, the weather was in the 40's, bitter cold coming Sunday, so had to get out.
I was in such 'deep woods' that I looked over my shoulder often, a mountain lion was seen just West of where I was.
I just enjoy Nature, look for hornet's nests, & relax, & of course take pic's.

Now dang it, fossis. I'm looking at these before sunup this morning and I guess I'm going to have to get around and go for a snowy walk. I just saw the temps that are coming. BRrrrr! Beautiful country down there.

Great pics!Brings back a lot of memories. When I was a kid I lived in the woods and never thought about how they really looked or how strange some things appear. They just looked like normal woods to me.Now it is different maybe because the woods and critters are getting so scarce.I envy your walks and area.

Thanks Daddy, I was raised in the woods also, with the good game management here, & some things like bear & Elk being reintroduced, we have some 'healthy populations' of critters.
OK had their first ever Bear season, (spilling over from AR), they took 20 this year, the last bear was killed in the 1920's before they were reintroduced, & mountain lions can be killed if doing damage or threatning you, they are getting thick, also wild hogs are thick.
Otter can be taken for the first time ever.

Here are pic's of a hunting camp near Mena AR in 1890, turkey, deer, & mountain lions.

Beautiful. The wind here made it tough today. You ever find any artifacts in your wanderings? Great pictures as always.

Thanks,
Pic's of my 30 year collection are on page 20, Indian Artifacts, ( down at the bottom of the page, ) most were found in AR before I moved to OK some 20 years ago, there are no plowed fields here, & collecting is prohibited on Corps of Engineers land, & public hunting areas. (I had 10 years worth stolen in AR).
