I just started working with a company that restores old original log cabins. Here is the project that we are working on.....I will eventuall hit this yard pretty good but right now we are working from daylight till dark and the property is about an hour away from my house but I am gonna try to get up there on one of my days off....story goes that they found some kind of brass button in the wall during the gutting of the cabin....gave it to the home owner who carried it to a coin shop and they got an estimated value of $25,000.......I'm not a button expert by any means but that sounds WAY high.....if it was a Confederate button $2500 even sounds high but more reasonable.....the guys that found it said they didnt get a good enough look at it to give me a description...but think it had an eagle on it...i dunno

Cool cabin. I dunno either. I don't think Washington Inaugural buttons even fetch that much. But some do have eagles on them I believe. I would be up there going crazy all over that property though! jgas

25k would probably have to be the best of the best. (CW) I have seen a few go in the $12,000-$15,000 range.

I have my doubts the estimate is good being by a coin dealer, especially a random one. Pretty hard to price buttons when they are as good as it gets.

the logs are Poplar and yes they are saving the fireplaces........if it can be reused on the cabin it will be..........some parts will come from other cabins taken down for the parts.......everything but the addition we are building on the back will be period materials wherever possible
