Game Camera Pics...."Cicatriz"

So, we finally bought a game camera to see what kind of deer have been coming in at night to feed. And last night, guess who showed up? "Cicatriz"! :hello2: (At least we think its him.)
He is a 10 point main frame with a kicker off his G2 on the left side(last year he had kickers off both of his G2's). He's an awesome looking buck!
Here's a link to last years post about him: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,282792.0.html
Enjoy!!

That is a nice rack. The Osage is home to a lot of nice bucks, and probably some more impressive than him. What do you think he would weigh out at?

I don't know, RGINN....He's a fatty that's for sure! Maybe about 165lbs?
The biggest one my daughter has killed weighed 178 field dressed, but we have a friend who killed one that weighed 205lbs. and he seemed like a monster to us. There was a neat article in Outdoor Oklahoma that said the Osage is the top producing county in Oklahoma with 4,812 deer checked in last year [in this county](2,643 of those being bucks). Josie can't hardly wait for deer season  .

He's the biggest to come in so far.

Thanks buckshot---We can't wait to get some daytime pictures of him. He's one of those smart bucks and probably won't start really coming out in the daytime until the rut is on. (Seems like that's what he did last year, too.)
Thanks guys!!

Thanks mainer! She's getting pretty excited about this hunting season.....There's a youth hunt coming up on Oct. 17th and then muzzle loader (black powder)season starts the end of October.

I think this is going to be a really good year for the deer around here, civilman. There seems to be lots of acorns and natural forage, so they all look really healthy(as if you couldn't tell that from the pics. :D ).
Here's another picture from last night of an 8 point that's been coming in.
Thanks for the comments guys!!

When my grandpa moved to Osage county in the 1950's there weren't hardly any deer---he would hunt for days on end and never see anything. Now, there seems to be mega amounts of whitetails, and my daughter and husband can really hunt for the mature bucks and let the young ones grow. Also, the state of Oklahoma allows a 2 week gun season which helps hunters harvest more deer and in turn that controls the population so they don't become diseased, ect....Not to mention filling many freezers with good meat! :D
I'm so glad you are enjoying the pictures, mainer, and hope you have a great hunting season this year!

Its a whole lot different up here. You can hunt all season up here and never even see a buck. Let alone one like you got in your pics. But somehow we manage. I could look at pics like that all day. Will be putting my trail camara out soon. Hopefully It will catch a glimpse of a decent buck. Thanks again for sharing your pictures. Take care. :hello:

Hi Bill Hilly---Our camera is a Moultrie Game Spy D50. It is a 5 Mega Pixel. I found it on sale at Atwoods Farm & Ranch Store for $79!
Here's a couple of pictures from last night of a 10 point buck.
Thanks for the comments!

Wow, so it's not a IR camera? It flashes. I have used those in the past and it always seems like it spooks the big boy's. I just bought 2 Moultrie D55 IR's and am looking forward to seeing how they react when it takes a photo. Is that your backyard the are browsing in? What are they eating?

Yes, it flashes and at first it kinda scared them---they would jump sideways and were a little skittish. But now they just take it in stride. And yes, this is just right outside our yard fence. We feed them a combination of whole kernal corn and milo.
Here's a funny one---I guess this buck wanted to make sure we got a good shot of him :laughing7: .

Great pics Sandcreek. I told you you would have fun with a deer cam. I am telling you the ones that flash are way better than the I.R cameras. The I.R's are poor quality and seem to spook them even more. We have about 5 cameras running all the time and are slowly getting back to the ones that flash and away from I.R.
Great pics you will see some dandy's at night

Yes you were right, TnMtns! This camera has been catching some amazing pictures and I can't wait to see what starts coming in as the days get shorter and colder. (Seems like last year about the middle of October is when the deer started feeding really good around here.)
And something else I like about this camera is it logs the time and we can see their feeding patterns. This is a really good camera for the price and I'm pleased with its performance.
