Please turn out the lights.
It is so dry that the beavers are having to leave the swamps & head to the closest river, fish are lying dead all over, & little minnows in the muddy ditches are even about gone, all that is left is muddy trails after the water dried up.
I took a walk in a 'new area' I had never been in before, i found a cow skull, saw wood ducks, turkeys, & an armadillo, the weather was absolutely wonderful, what a Great day out in Nature. :icon_sunny:

Fossis, looks like nice country around there, but too bad it got so dry. Kind of hard on the wildlife. That is a pretty
thick trunk on the tree that your rifle is leaning.

Good pics. thanks for sharing.

It sure is 'nice country' ray, but we need lots of rain in the worst way.
These big oaks are on the old fence rows, that's why they usually escaped the loggers, now the old fields are slowly going back to nature with young trees everywhere.

I like the last photo. It kinda reminds me of alot of country around here in Vermont. As the old farms are growing in, the fields are starting to look like this :icon_thumleft: Stone walls crossing everywhere too.

Thanks, the old timers used a lot of hard work & sweat to clear, pull stumps, & get the land ready for farming, but on U.S. Corp of Engineers land, it is going 'back to nature', which I think is only right, it benefits the wildlife greatly.

I delayed commenting, hoped you would have a downpour. We need to do a (rain) stomp dance. You still got some good pictures.
When The Beaver come back maybe they wont have to cut down so much wood for their lodge. Gnewt

We have had two rains lately, but not enough to start filling the swamps back up, I had a post a few weeks ago about needing a 'rain dancer'.
They shouldn't need as much wood now, & the squirells are thick around the rivers now, one posed for me yesterday.

Awesome pictures, as usual :notworthy: You sure do a lot of walking. I do too but never take the camera. Mine is for excercise around 3 miles a day. Not in the woods. It's hard to find any land around here where you could do that.

Nice shots ..Any pics of bears ;D

Thanks, I have seen their 'scat', big rocks turned over, logs shredded, but they are 'very elusive', my wife saw one coming off of a hill near the hwy.
I've seen two large hogs ran over on the hwy, & four mountain lions over the years.
