I found this jar along a lake, it had just enough mud inside, & a hole in the lid to get water, & grass was growing inside the jar, also a rock with a hole big enough for a man to sit inside, with 'dirtdaubers' using it for a home, etc....
Plus a nice fossil wood impression.

The "Wood Impression" looks mighty close to a picture in your other post, a Gar or Alligator fish? Even looks like part of the tail to the right.

They do look similar, but the wood is I believe a 'Lapidodendron' plant, i've never found any animal, fish, or insects in any of the rocks around here, a friend found 'salamander tracks', that's all I've ever seen.

Thanks, the weather hasn't been too bad lately, except some (cold wind), that & rain is all that keeps me inside, we may get a few flurries over the weekend, that's enough for me. :P

That fossil is amazing!

We are in the middle of 'coal country', & there are fossil woods in the creeks, impressions in rocks all over the place, plus they dig them from the coal mines, so nearly every time i go out I see something of the sort.
