I was detecting in the woods and here comes this hawk lands right above me 10 feet in a tree :o

He was really interested in what i was doing..I stood on the rock wall and he was about 5 feet up from me...He was not scared of me :dontknow:

I was talking to him in a soft voice and he was turning his head listening to me ;D
Just like my dog :laughing7:

It was a great experience

I love it when just for a moment you can connect with nature. It always makes you feel good. Moments like that are special to me

Looks like it only has one foot! Well, i only see one claw on branch! Nice pic's!

Actually its funny you mention that the one in my back yard a couple of weeks ago was
sitting on my shed just on its left foot and i seen it tucking its right foot up in its feathers :icon_scratch:

Good pics of the Hawk. I doubt he is afraid of much being as high on the food chain as he is in his world. :)

Birds are a lot smarter than given credit for.

Great pics! Looks like a red tailed hawk or a juvenile red shouldered hawk. (?) Gorgeous face, and I love the way it was bending it's head!
Very intelligent animal!

Johnnyb, I love Hawks, well all animals.
I watched a red-tailed hawk, in my backyard, dance with a snake he was trying to eat.
He was sitting atop a 35 ft palm tree stump,(top got blowed off in hurricane), had snake in one foot, it just a writhing around, hawk a dancing, trying to get snake, just right. I just laughed and laughed, as he shredded that snake. (I hoped it wasn't one of my rat snakes)
