Great ones. That last one should be a public service announcement to let folks know it may not look bad, but lightning can get you real quick here in Colorado. Been struck at 3 times, once in a car, two times in a house. No harm done to me, but it did knock me on the floor that one time. We don't seem to have that much of it here in the mountains, but what there is will sure get your attention.

Excellent!! :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft: I have never attempted any of those. Usually when we have thunderstorms, we are worried about the forest fires the lightning causes.

Yup all great shots.

From the 1st picture I can now see how the street lamps get powered :laughing7:

As for #4, I am wondering if this is not a ground to air strike.. It looks as though it might be :icon_scratch:

Well, which ever way it was traveling I'm thankful I wasn't in the middle :tongue3:

I love looking at it from far away, but when I was in 2nd. grade,my best friend got struck by lightning in the parking lot at school and it knocked me and several other students down.He turned out okay and still has the scar on his shoulder.

Superb shots Phil , we just don't get that kind of weather here that often so I might have to go to the States for a week or 2 to get that kind of quality :laughing7:. Keep them coming mate

I was working out of town and we had a hit in the yard. The wife called to see if some one could come check out the walls and make sure there wasn't something burning in em. Two firetrucks, an ambulance, cops, and a tv crew showed up. It blew out the tvs, dvd players, 2 dish recievers, a computer, their power strips, melted our and two neighbor's phone lines, left smoke stains on the walls around a few outlets, and drew half the neighborhood to our yard when the flashing lights showed up.

Oh, almost forgot and had to modify, If I'm ever around you and the sky starts booming don't be offended if I suddenly put some distance between us. Three times ??

That's a fear in Colorado too. The pine beetles have killed thousands of acres of trees all over the state that'd go up like kindling under the right conditions.

Funny you should mention that. I told the wife long ago when I got in to photography that if nothing else we'd never have a shortage of screen savers.
