Met him/her on a walk...heard a humming, turned & there it was, sitting 2 feet away at eye level. I started talking to the little fellow and it seemed to be listening and very relaxed...a young hummingbird for sure. Three days in a row I go to the same place and there it was...just wanted to share these special shots of my little friend.:love2:

He was in Colorado last week. He knew he'd better get to New Mexico before the rush to get out of here.

GGrreeaaaat pictures, Kat! For the bird to sit there and let you take those pictures is amazing! I believe that's the best pictures of a hummingbird while it's sitting on a branch I've ever seen. It's a real 'cutie'!

Agreeing with texasred! Our little hummingbirds seem to be patiently holding out before they fly South for some nectar that I provide. They are one of my favorite things about Summer.

hummingbirds are one of the things I love ( sheesh I am turning gay)

the other day I was digging a hole out back ( not for a body this time) and I felt as hbird hovering next to my head. I didn't turn, just spoke to it. cool
