My gf and I usually see some when we kayak on the river here. I am always so awestruck that I forget to take pics. It is such a treat to watch them.

It is a beauty. We had a bald eagle that died of lead poisoning down the road this weekend. He got ahold of a fish or something that was contaminated, was caught and taken to wild heart ranch for treatment, then later died after prognosis was made. They are so majestic and its sad to see them go.

That's sad....I was just thinking about this. Nothing lives forever, and they are the predator. Was wondering how long they live, and what causes their natural death.

Well you inspired me Ron, so I drove up to Parshall today, as it's a sure fire bet to always see a few eagles up that way. Nary a one. Not even a magpie. Saw a couple of empty nests is all. I guess they've moved to your part of the country.
