It always amazes me how nature can devise ways of deception. I stick nuts sometimes in the bark of the cottonwood tree out front for the squirrels and then they bury them here and there in the yard. They know when the blue jay's are watching, so they'll do a fake burial, to throw off the blue jay's. It's funny to see the blue jay's swoop down to where they think a nut is and find nothing. They then fly off in the direction they think the squirrels headed hoping to still get that nut from the squirrel.
