Yes, those are mushrooms, but that is not a stump...
My neighbor across the street had a massive mango tree, got hit by lightning a couple years ago... When it got removed, my wife coerced the crew to place one of the low sections of the tree in our front yard. I got home from work, and was like why?... So there she goes, making a little fantasy garden, there was little animals, a door, and a haven for the little lizards and critters to crawl around on. Now it is rotting, and loaded with termites. The little tufts of grass is bird seed that has rooted. The moss is imported from up north, and the mushrooms only sprout in the early am, till the sun cooks them dry.
