I've seen low orbit space junk look kind of red in color during dawn and dusk hours before. Once I saw some space junk, that was clearly rotating as it would get real bright and dim as though it was rolling at a steady pace as it was floating just above the earth gravitational grip. We've been dumping junk in space now for 60 years.

When I was in Kentucky a couple weeks ago, my brother in law and I noticed a strange stationary light that would glow red and then green, but never once moved at all. We watched it for quite some time but never figured out what it might be, unless it was the space station maybe? There is a site that details when and where it can be seen but I had no internet there and didn't really care enough to search for it on the phone:tongue3:

Nice hunting find :). A couple of questions:
1- what kind of light was it? was it like a light coming from a lamp? or a faint undefined red glow?
2-Zigzag motion? turns? or only straight line
3-perhaps most importantly: did you notice that, at the time of the sighting that everything seemed kind of extra quiet, stillful and really silent?

Regards

Enlarge all of them,it is something more than light,it was moving in straight line. It's odd seeing this in the same area of sky as the last sighting which by the way did zigzaging in slow and very fast speeds, there were moments it just hovered at a standstill.

Possibly a satellite or the space station.

If you see an alien craft and recognize it as such, is it still a UFO?

Wife and I can sit on our porch and watch a satellite pass by almost every night at the same time of evening for the last 3 nights. It's big and bright like a star and moves so slowly. It's kind of creepy really cause its so big looking and outside our atmosphere but still as low as the lowest set of stars.

When I was a kid, I remember being outside in the front yard one evening. My dad was talking with someone who was visiting. I saw an unusual light just sort of hovering in the sky. It had never been there before. However, it also appeared to be quite far away. I watched that light for maybe 15 minutes. Finally I went in and got a flashlight, then aimed the flashlight at the light. Suddenly it started moving rapidly westward, faster than any aircraft I could think of....and I was a member of EAA then!! (Experimental Aircraft Asso.)

It never did make sense to me - I mean, how could a little 2 D-cell flashlight even be NOTICED from that distance?!?!? I figure it had to be coincidence. Just no idea WHAT it was!!

;) I remember seeing them as a kid but this one was crazy how it just went right on by and almost like it circled the globe and came back by the next two nights. I wasn't home in time last night to see it but maybe tonight and I'll snap a picture or a video. There is a Air National Guard base about 45 minutes away but this is too high for any of the C-130 or A-10's. I've not seen an F-16/14 out of that place in a long dang time so maybe it is a satellite. I know mom has 3 C-130 fly directly over her house through the mountains every single night at 930 on the dot.

It sounds to me like you're describing a satellite. I've also seen some weather balloons that just sorta danced around in the air for hours, but this sounds more like a satellite. :dontknow:

I figured that's what it was. I've seen some strange stuff since I've moved up on the mountain. Don't want to sound like a conspiracy nut but there has been some strange lights up here

Well, getting higher up puts you a little closer, but it often means that you're also above air pollution that may mask an item from view in other areas. Also, the more lights there are in your area, the less likely you are to see stars in the sky, or even the Aurora Borealis.

Not sure what the population is offhand, but our nearest major town is Grand Forks, ND, and it is 3 hours away. Nearest Wal-Mart is 1.5 hours away. Nearest McDonald's is the same. In fact, the ONLY fast food chains within an hour of us are Dairy Queen and Subway! ...We really don't get out much! :tongue3:
