The mouth of the Smith river with the hazy mountains from the above pic.
Then as I sit enjoying the view.... This came in with the tide. Hey... Being a local boy, who has worked on crab boats... Damnit!!
I hope they had another marker!
Over the weekend, increasing temperatures and higher winds fanned the Chetco Bar Fire, buring 23 miles northeast of Brookings, causing it to grow to nearly 3,000 acres, officials National Incident Management Organization (NIMO) announced Monday.
And those weather conditions are forecast to continue through the week, challenging firefighters to keep the fire within the boundaries they’ve built since July 12 when the fire was reported.
Fire officials now hope to have the Chetco Bar Fire contained by Oct. 15 and likely let the winter rains extinguish it.

Beautiful pic, but lots of digital noise ... maybe a lower ISO value or even checking the quality of the save on the camera would have made it a bit less noisy when the haze was removed. Took a little liberty with the color of the trees in the foreground.
Thanks! I was shooting in auto mode even though this camera has full manual settings. In this instance I was directing tourists to our local Pacific northwest wonders (hope they didn't get lost)
