Hey Terry, I finally showed your photos to a guy who was a mine manager of the Congress mine back in the later 1980s. He was delighted to see the photos. He told me these cores we're from when they were mapping a vain known as the Niagara vein. He drew me a map of how the vein ran in the mountain. He said those cores were at one time in a core shack and that someone had moved them to the spot you saw them. He said the core shack was a red metal building. Was there still a red metal building anywhere around?

There are a couple buildings, but nothing out by the old mine works.
