I didn't see any of the majestic creatures such as elk this trip, but did see some big horn sheep along I70 in Colorado, but couldn't pull over for any pictures. There were many antelope along the way. I saw this long eared rabbit in Utah and I'm not sure if it's a jack rabbit, but more of a desert type hare that lives in the Colorado Plateau? They're bigger then a cottontail, but smaller then a jack rabbit, as I did see two of those cross the road in front of me in Nevada and they are quite large in size. I saw this interesting bug on my way to a mine in Nevada and there are many of these ground squirrels that are smaller then a prairie dog and there were many of those little varmints run over on the road, because when one get run over more come out to eat the flesh of their of the one that got squished and then that get run over. They eat meat and I've seen them eating on dead rabbits also. Around noon today I stopped off for a picnic with my crow and magpie friends on top of Vail pass. I had some bananas from the motel I stayed at last night and some granola bars for these guys, plus they looked like they could use a little treat, being the weather wasn't the best up there today. I know I'm glad to be up and over that pass early, as it looked like things were starting whip up a heck of a storm by tonight.

I didn't know magpie's were a crow. It's a cool photo of it. I wish scruggs was still posting on here. He could of told us what the bug was. I wonder what happened to him?

Cool photos!

That one's just a jackalope that has shed its horns and is waiting for the new ones to come in. LOL!!!

I didn't get into to real bad of weather out of this storm front that reaped havoc over the central part of the country. The only precipitation I saw out of it was in the higher elevations of the Rockies, but it had a strong wind the whole way home. I believe it was kicked up higher by the rocky mountains and then came swooping back down over the lowlands of eastern Colorado and Nebraska making blizzard conditions out there and my mom in Iowa said it stirred up several tornado's in western Iowa. These are some photo's of this storm front as we traveled east a 1000 miles together. I pretty much stayed in front of this storm the whole way home. The first I saw of the storm brewing was in the Ruby mountains in Nevada. It pretty much ended for me once I came down out of the rocky mountains. Some strong winds and cooler temperatures is all we saw here on the front range.
