Probably what the 'Country singer Roger Miller' was humming
in his mind in the 1940's when he spent summers in his uncle & Aunt's house in Cauthron AR. (one of his tunes that came later)
His Uncle was named Emmitt, & his Aunt was Hattie Miller, they ran a little country store for years.
I was in the store lots of times, there was a little wood stove, with feed stacked in the back, & pop, & candy, & supplies, the men would all gather around & talk about politics & the weather, although I came along much later than Roger, & never met him.
Emmett said he attended a couple of Roger's concerts, but he didn't own any of his records. :D

Sadly Roger never attended their funerals when they passed on.
(pic's are town sign, homeplace, store, the sign has swung upside down, but you can make out 'MIL, (it read Millers store),
old school house.

Thanks Carolina, sadly, this old town is not going
anywhere fast, no store, no post office, just a couple of
churches left.
Since I posted this, I can't stop humming his songs. :-\

Gee fissis, that's really neat. It's good to know someone who knows about things like
that. What else can you tell us about that place and the people who lived there?

Olie Hillbillies................................

Cauthron is a very old town, the RR came through in
1902, I knew a man who ordered a toy wagon, & it came by rail.
There are graves just south of there from the Civil war period.
Emmett also told me when they graded out a new road over
the other side of the river, (with mules & slips), they dug into
many Indian graves.
One old timer used to go about 45 minutes away & dig lead
for making bullets.
