Does that squirrel interact with the other grey squirrels?

It's a different species. He probably has friends nearby. Make sure he or she has some nuts to put away for winter.

Well once the greys see him getting special treatment from you, they might try and bully their way with him. I had a squirrel that would take peanuts from my fingers, but after a while a big bully squirrel started to show up and chase the brave squirrel away all the time. Now I just stick peanuts in the bark for the first come first serve. Sometimes the bluejays will swarm in and get most the peanuts, before the squirrel ever have a chance at finding all the peanuts stuck here and there in the bark.

I was just messing around. Truth be told I grew up in a town where about half the grey squirrels are black as a cricket. I was told the black variation is a recessive trait, which means the odds of one grey squirrel being black is pretty low even if both parents are black. But like I said the town I grew up in half the greys were black and in a few places all the grey squirrels were black. The math says it shouldn't happen, yet it does.
