Yeah,he's part blue tick part something else. I got him at the pound a few years ago. He was abused before I got him. He used to be scared of his own shadow, he's not as skiddish now though. He's good for keeping people out of the back yard, gotta love a houndog's howl. :)

I love that saying "There's nothing better than an old dog or a little kid" goes something like that anyway. I love my old dog too. Seems like the mixed ones are the best, in personality and health.

Some times the ones you rescue are the best ones
once they get their feet under em.
They figure out that they won the dogie lotto,
and there is no stopping them.

The only thing that I have everseen that was better than a kid or a dog...

I have a shepherd that follows me around as if there will be no tomorrow if I get out of her sight. She is one of three dogs I have left. all are rescues. But this one is my girl.

Here is another of the group. This one really did win the dogie lotto.
I figure he is about 8 or 9 now but he was very abused before we got him...
Yes those are scars on his back.

Our golden lab is not from a pound or shelter but from a puppy mill. she was a momma who had complications and lost a batch of pups. Rather than see her get put down we paid to have her fixed up and have never looked back. Her name is Brooke.

Diggumup and Countrygirl,

I agree that a rescue dog is a lot of times the best kind.
as I have gotten older They have in more ways than I can say...
taken the place of my own kids, and I miss the houseful.

Sorry if I highjacked your thread
But thanks for letting me share.

Love unconditional. :) A dog will die trying to protect you, let me see a cat do that!
