This is probably one of the most famous shipwreck pics on the Oregon coast. It wrecked on the rocks of Neahkahnie Mtn. very very close to what is now Manzanita. I wonder if there is are any relics burried in the sand
From what I have gathered the wreck happened on a perfect day. No clouds and calm seas. But The captain and most of the crew were drunk. There was a huge hearing in England about it. I guess that that Exxon isn't the only one who employs drunks to captain their ships. hehe. All of the crew survived, but the Pacific waves destroyed the boat. oh yeah, this happened in 1913.
