Buffleheads

These Buffleheads are cute little ducks,but they sure are leery of people! The closest I could get was over 100 yards away. And they spend much of the time diving for food. I would click the shutter and they would disappear!

Justgeese,they winter all across the southern U.S. Rare only in southern Florida. This according to my Sibley field guide. You might get to see them yet!

Ohhhh....They're..... BIRDS!!!!

I thought we had a new name for Buffalo Nickels for a sec there!!! I thought I'd have to adjust my MD vocabulary in order to keep up with the lingo!!!

Those are cool ducks though...are they related to mergansers somehow?
