I have never used Grape stumps, but don't see why not. My only concern would be that the wood may be a little soft. I saw some picture of lamps made from Grape stumps once, but they were poorly made.

As you both know the more you use your talent, (and you are both very talented ladies ,)the better you get at it.

I have made over 1300 of these lamps over the years, so I have had some practice.

Awesome piece once again Ron...And "No" I don't think they'll tire anyone.Great Job.I'm putting that book on the X-Mas list too if not sooner.Congratulation's on your "Authorhood".Have you ever thought about making pedestal base's for the Taxidermy community,might be something else to look into.....They would definetley accent someone's trophy very nice.Keep em' comin' you two!!

Heres a piece of Mountain Mahogany. It's very heavy and hard as a rock.
