Hello,
here are some Pics I shot from this old castle dated since the 1300's.
Once a year the actual
owners let the visitors come in to take a look inside the castle.
It is called "Day of open doors" .They organize a party where souvenirs
are sold in order to collect money for helping the conservation and
restoration of the old castle.
Along the years the castle suffered many fires and also bombings
during the wars.
Nearby there is the old cemetery of the castle where the members of
this family are buried. Among the very old graves I saw that of an
Officer who was killed during 2 WW on the east front.
In the middle there is this pagoda which bears the name
(Temple of Peace).
You really get in touch with history in this place.
Mike.

Pics were too large in KB,therefore I made them a little smaller in
order to acomodate them ;D
Could you imagine detecting on these grounds?
I think this area is full of relics - but if you try they would
"hung" you ;D :D
PS.:
I tried to add 2 more pics but it doesn't work.Should I make them
even smaller?
???

I used Microsoft picture manager that allows you to compress the photo for web pages. See what you think. Notice the size compared to yours.

Man I'd love to see the inside of that castle, did you get any shots of the inside? Beautiful old piece of history. I think we should all pitch in, buy her, and fix her up. :D

I would like to see it the inside too ! ;D
There is people living still inside it. We could (all the visitors) walk only around the property
and its gardens that day.The rest of the year,as it is a private property you can only watch
it from the outside.Earlier these grounds were much larger. It was in the middle of the
land until about 100 years ago.Now this zone is almost all built up,even a highway goes through the
property just some hundred meters away from the castle! -Very sad indeed :'(
From the inside, like the outside of the building you can see that it needs much there to be done ....

Look how some people were dressed on that day ! 8)...... on the foreground,my daughter is
watching them.
The last pic is a view from the main entrance.
