Found Another Bee Nest

Looks like yellow jackets ! About 7 feet up in the tree . Might be gettin some snow this winter !

hi swampfox here. if u like to get stung this the place . that thing is a hornets nest and if umess with them they will come at u and try to sting u to death .so be very careful and do not take them lightly they are no fun . i would call the exterminator or atleast find out what to do to kill them. be careful and heed my advice and u will come out better, hh swampfox

Yup, they are yellow Jackets alright. I had a car parked in my driveway and found that they built a nest in the door jam. I slammed the door several times and and even broke part of the nest ,they never bothered me. And when I cut the grass right next to the car they still never bothered me. But when anyone else got too close to the car the bees would come out and check them out and of course the person would start swatting and run.

Your picture is close enough to Identify on of the local scourges we have here.
I have a nest of them in the air space next to my stove pipe.
In the winter they get all toasty sometimes and climb down into the house,
they land on the woodstove and we find roasted hornets on the floor and the top of the stove.
Not fun to find with bare feet.

these are easily bigger than yellowjackets. and meaner.
Note that they have a heavier body than the yellowjacket and instead of a brownish head it is patterned.
The head is bigger as well.
These things are regular jackhammers with wings,
when they get fired up and will persue up to a half mile.
Wait 'til winter to get rid of these guys or you will be sorry.

There are some folks that will buy that nest from you. Be careful messing with them though!
