I like old traps. A friend of mine has 4 or 5 of them just hanging from an old tree but he won't part with them. At least I wanted to display them, not just let them rot. :(

I found that trap 4'' deep in the ground in north Louisiana near a creak.

Looks to be a muskrat trap. I used to have to be careful when fishing not to step in them. The trappers would set them in the water.

Don't know nuthin' about muskrats...

Looks about the size we used for coyotes, bobcats, and badgers...

Them muskrats must be pretty good sized?
