PRESS RELEASE

The Perth Amboy Ferry Slip Museum is proud to announce the kick off of their "Sun Day Series" of activities with a talk by legendary journalist Charles Wiley scheduled for Sunday, March 21 at 1:00 PM. His topic will be "World War II - The Home Front".

Mr. Wiley is a radio and talk show personality and commentator with past appearances on CNN Crossfire and C-Span. He is a journalist who has reported from 100 countries and covered 11 wars. He has been widely read in the New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek and Time as well as foreign news media. His unquenchable thirst for uncovering the truth and reporting it in an unbiased manner has led to his having been arrested eight times by secret police including the KGB. He has also been imprisoned in a Cuban dungeon.

Charles Wiley has lectured in all 50 states and on six continents. He lived briefly in the former Soviet Union and China while lecturing at their universities. Those experiences were very tame in comparison to his going into Afghanistan with the Mujehdeen during the war with the Soviets or his activities while covering the Viet Nam War. He logged five combat missions with the Vietnamese Air Force, including flying at treetop level into a besieged Hue during the war's biggest battle.

Mr. Wiley's knowledge of World War II is both personal, having joined the USO and entertained at U.S. bases for two years until he was old enough to join the U.S. Navy, and is also the result of half a century of in depth study of the war. His research has taken him to hundreds of battlefields, archives and museums worldwide He has interviewed thousands - from average folks to general and admirals.

A compliment to the talk will be World War II memorabiia, the playing of World War II era recordings and uniformed young
"soldiers".

The Ferry Slip Museum is located at the foot of Smith Street on the beautiful Perth Amboy waterfront. Attendance is limited and reservations are recommended. A $5.00 donation is requested.

For information or reservations pease call Kathleen DePow at 732-442-5425.
