newbie in upstate new york

hi guys, my name is Jason, I am new to metal detecting and have jumped right in, purchased 3 pro pointer, etrac, garrett 2500 and g-pro. I love this hobby very much but feel very frustrated at the same time, I desperately need help......I have had great success with the etrac, but all of a sudden the readings have gone awry, now I keep getting f1-c36 almost all the time and am wondering what is going on. Also, I noticed my new sealed etrac may have been possibly used before, what do I do?
