Hi all!
Very new here and to MD in general. For a little background, I live in Apex, which is near Raleigh, NC. I'm 45 and have a 6 year old little girl who will be going out with me occasionally on the weekends
I purchased a BH Pioneer 505, Garrett Pro Pointer and a Lesche handheld and a t bar. (Tax return well spent, I hope!) I spent the past couple of days hitting the parks, school yards and playing in the mud to get used to my new MD. It was a very disappointing, but enjoyable couple of days. At least I feel I'm fairly proficient with my MD now, which is a good thing
I'm aware of the state part restrictions, but found out by a friendly ranger that Wake County parks are off limits as well...
I've seen a couple of MD groups in the area mentioned, but it seems all their links are dead and I'm assuming their groups as well If anyone knows of any active groups in the area, please let me know. And if anyone in the area is looking for someone to go out MD'ing with, I'm game as well. As I said, I live in Apex and I work at UNC in Chapel Hill. I'm up for day trips to other parts of NC as well. Now I have to start doing some research on the historical aspects on where to MD. If I take my goofball out, I don't want to spend the day finding just nails and tabs like I did the past 2 days! lol She'll lose interest fast that way!
Anywho... just wanted to say hi and I'll be lurking around reading up and learning as much as I can.
