We are trying to identify our cannon. It is cast iron. Barely legible markings on muzzle reads george? and the other letters... but
the powder has obviously corroded some of the letters.
The barrel measures 23.5" from knob to muzzle. The opening on muzzle is almost 2". It has a cast iron sight and inch or so on top from
the muzzle. We have shot stainless steel balls.
It is on an old carriage but we do not know if it was original to the cannon?
Any ideas?
