Hi, my name is Scott. I work as a jail guard in a county jail working with immigration criminals. I work 3rd shift (bleck) 1800-0600 and have weird times that I work. I'm new to this whole metal detecting and treasure finding. I'm wanting to do this as a new hobby. I have spent the last 6-7 hours looking up different types of detectors and still have no real idea of what I need to get. I live in Altoona, AL. It's nice to meet everyone here.

Welcome from Texas. How would you like to work here in immigration central? I feel for you with those hours, but hopefully most of your "guests" are asleep and won't cause trouble. As for detectors, it becomes a personal choice and you are doing the best thing possible by doing research. There are a number of vendors on this site that can help you decide too. Whatever you choose, just have fun and I wish you luck on your hunts...

Ha, these guys stay up from 1830-2230, lock down for an hour, then are out from 2330-0215....usually they don't unless they argue over a microwave...seriously.
