Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking and reading the site for a while. Great information for a beginner like myself. It's nice to read the stories of successful hunts and even the not so successful hunts. I purchased a Tesoro Cutlass II Umax years ago and it has been hanging in the shop forever. Kids are all gone now and life is slowing down. I recently dusted the Tesoro off and getting back out a little.

I live on a farm. Apparently years ago someone planted a crop tin cans in the pasture with an occasional tractor part and horseshoe thrown in to keep it interesting. The cows did their part by working everything down in the soil real good so I haven't ran out of things to dig up just yet. LOL.

Yes, I've got to know the machine much better. Even without a display, it will still tell you a lot if you listen. Oh, and a big improvement from the old days....Holy Cow what a difference a good pointer makes. I sprung for a Garrett pointer and don't regret the expenditure one bit.
